Are You More Prone To Gain Weight Or To Keep It Off After Liposuction
Researchers from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas say that according to their study liposuction patients who neglect their regular exercise plans will be working against the effects that their operation gave them. Their study showed that liposuction patients are three times more apt to gain weight if they don’t excercise then people who did not have liposuction surgery.
Those who had liposuction and kept to a healthy diet are twice as apt to lose weight after liposuction. The end result of their new study is the same as what plastic surgeons have been telling their liposuction patients. Liposuction is not meant for weight loss but can be used with exercise and diet to achieve long term weight loss success. According to one researcher, a professor of plastic surgery at the University, liposuction is meant to be used to contour shape and not to lose weight.
The controversy over the future effects of liposuction has not deterred the cosmetic surgery from becoming one of the more popular surgeries used by people who are body conscious or those who decide on the surgery for their own psychological well being.
